“Can you tell me more about what you're struggling with?”
As a therapist, my goal is to create a safe and non-judgmental space for my clients to share their concerns.
By asking this question, I am inviting you, my client, to explore your thoughts and feelings and to identify any underlying issues that may be contributing to their challenges.
I understand that it can be difficult to open up about personal struggles, but I want to assure you that I am here to listen and support you in any way that I can. By working together, we can create a plan for therapy that is tailored to your specific needs and goals.

Individual, Couples, and Family Therapy in Los Angeles, California
Therapy offers a safe and confidential space for individuals, couples, and families to receive support from a trained mental health professional. People attend therapy to address a range of issues, from anxiety and depression to relationship problems and stress management. Additionally, therapy can help individuals gain insight into their thoughts and emotions and improve their overall well-being.
I offer:
Individual Therapy – Individual therapy is where a person works one-on-one with a therapist to address their concerns and improve their well-being. It involves exploring thoughts, emotions, and behaviors to identify and address underlying issues.
Couples Therapy – Couples therapy involves working with a therapist to address challenges in your relationship. It focuses on improving communication, resolving conflicts, and building a stronger and more fulfilling relationship.
Family Therapy – Family therapy involves working with a therapist to address family conflicts and improve communication within the family unit. It can help families navigate challenging life transitions and develop more supportive and healthy relationships.
How Does Therapy Work?
When I start working with new clients, I always begin with a comprehensive assessment that helps identify their presenting problem and reveals its history. The assessment also identifies other stressors as well as the clients’ treatment histories and family histories. Through this assessment, I am able to create a specific treatment plan that is unique to the individual, couple, or family and their situation.
When building a treatment plan, my goal is to not just address the problem directly but also provide you with tools for coping and/or overcoming obstacles outside of treatment.
A few examples:
If I am seeing an individual for depression, an intervention like teaching assertiveness skills can help reduce depressive symptomatology.
With couples, I often use mirroring and validation techniques (like Imago Therapy) to help them get on the same page.
For families, I typically start with psychoeducation about family systems and provide insight into how different roles different family members play can uphold a dysfunctional system.
I utilize multiple therapy modalities, such as EMDR, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Feedback-Informed Care, for treatment. I believe using multiple modalities is beneficial because it allows me to tailor treatment to the unique needs of each individual, providing a more comprehensive and effective approach to their care.
What is Virtual Therapy in California?
Virtual therapy, also known as online therapy, is a form of mental health treatment that is conducted through a secure internet connection. Rather than meeting with a therapist in person, individuals can participate in therapy sessions using a video conferencing platform or phone. Virtual therapy offers the convenience of being able to access therapy from anywhere, as long as there is a stable internet connection. It can be an effective option for individuals who may have mobility issues, live in remote areas, or prefer the privacy of receiving therapy from their own homes.
Anxiety, Depression, Trauma, and EMDR
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a type of psychotherapy that uses a structured approach to address and process past events. It involves guided eye movements, sounds, or taps to stimulate both sides of the brain while revisiting memories, with the goal of reducing the negative impact of those memories on the individual's present-day functioning. EMDR is a well-researched and effective treatment option for anxiety, depression, trauma, and other mental health conditions.
My approach to treating anxiety, depression, and trauma involves starting with a thorough assessment of the patient's presenting symptoms and history. From there, I determine the targets for treatment using EMDR. Throughout the course of treatment, I focus on helping the patient build internal and external resources, such as calming techniques, and drawing upon their strengths, to create a new narrative.
Once the patient is ready, we begin to address past trauma and abuse using EMDR eye movement sessions to process them and change the cognitions associated with their memories. After processing, we work on building future templates to address new situations that may arise and potentially trigger the patient. By addressing the past trauma and creating future templates, we can help the patient to develop healthier coping mechanisms and move forward in their healing journey.

An Approach that Works
My therapeutic approach, regardless of modality, rests in the importance of psychodynamic therapy. Psychodynamic Therapy explores the idea that early life experiences can have a significant impact on adult functioning, particularly if one is experiencing issues such as relationship difficulties, depression, anxiety, or a history of trauma. Unconscious patterns from early life may continue to influence present behavior, but therapy can provide insight and help individuals create healthier patterns for their lives. With this approach, there is hope for positive change and growth.
